The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape showed excellent
ripeness as well as more earth, pepper, and kirsch. It is
very primary but clearly made in a delicate, somewhat
restrained style that will age nicely for 7-8 years, but is
hardly a blockbuster or as profoundly deep as some of the best wines of the region.
A new domaine in the eastern sector of Chateauneuf du
Pape near the village of Bedarrides, these are the first
wines I have tasted from this young grower.
